I was personally there in 1982. I distinctly remember details of the sufferings that was not reported. Too routine, too uninteresting to outside media consumers. I remember August 6, when an 11-stories Aker building (off- Sanaye3 park) just crumpled down after being hit by Israeli vacuum bombs. It imploded just like a pack of card. Victims: 'only' 250 people. All of them were poor civilian Lebanese and Palestinians who took refuge in the garage basement of that building. It was really sad to note that American and Israeli spin doctors told us that it was a lie. As they are telling us now.
Let us hope that Olmert, the new butcher of our hood, does not sink so deep in this bloodbath as his mentor Sharon has done in 1982. AbuRasool
