Several Doctoral Research Fellowships, University of Oslo

A- A position as doctoral research fellow in Islam and the Islamic World is available at the Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages, Faculty of Humanities, University of Oslo http://www.hf.uio.no/ikos/english/index.html.

The successful candidates should in her/his research project work on a topic related to Islam and the Islamic world. Applicants should document necessary language competence to carry out the project. The applicant's doctoral research project should preferably be related to one of the ongoing research projects at the department

The position is available for a period of three years. Candidates who are accepted must participate in the researcher education programme (cf. regulations and supplementary provisions for the faculty's researcher education). Research fellows will have their workplace and academic contact person at the relevant Department.

Government wage scale: 43-50 (from NOK 358 800 to NOK 367 800)

Closing date for applications: 14 March 2008

B -- Apart from the earmarked position in Islam, the Faculty of Humanities at the University of
Oslo is announcing up to 25 doctoral research fellowships open for all disciplines. with 1 April 2008 being the closing date for application.

Requirements and conditions are similar to the position in Islam described above. The detailed
